Ashley Goss is the founder and creative soul behind Auntie’s Artwork—a purpose-driven art brand born from compassion, healing, and love.
As a full-time veterinary technician, Ashley has seen firsthand the emotional toll the profession can take. Long hours, high stakes, and the quiet grief that often goes unspoken—it all adds up. In May 2022, after witnessing her coworkers wrestle with burnout and emotional exhaustion, Ashley started painting canvases to brighten their environment. She began with pet portraits—playful, loving pieces that brought life to the clinic’s sterile walls.
But it didn’t stop there.
Knowing how heavy the mental burden in vet med can be, Ashley soon started creating Positive Name Paintings—colorful, personalized artworks infused with affirmations. Her goal was simple but profound: to give her colleagues something they could glance at in passing and feel seen, valued, and loved. A visual anchor in a sea of stress. A quiet reminder: You are important. You are not alone.
Art became her way of caring not just for animals—but for people too.
Though Ashley has been drawing digitally since 2010, it was this moment that truly transformed her creative path. What started as a personal outlet quickly turned into a heartfelt mission: to use art as a tool for connection, mental wellness, and joy.
The name Auntie’s Artwork comes from her niece, who has always called her “Auntie.” That small nickname now carries big meaning—it symbolizes the love of family, the strength in vulnerability, and the importance of showing up for others in quiet, creative ways.
And at the heart of it all is Meeko, Ashley’s dog and the official mascot of Auntie’s Artwork. Meeko isn’t just in the logo—he’s part of the reason the business exists at all. In Ashley’s darkest moments, when depression threatened to pull her under, it was Meeko who kept her moving forward. His companionship, loyalty, and constant, quiet presence have been her grounding force. He’s more than a pet—he’s her emotional lifeline, her muse, and her reminder that love heals in all its forms.
Today, Ashley pours all of that love—her experiences, her empathy, her resilience—into every piece she creates. Whether it’s a custom pet portrait, a name painting filled with affirmations, or an abstract burst of color meant to spark joy, every canvas tells a story.
